Apple Computers

To anyone who cared, iPods have grown to become cultural icons even larger than its creator.

That would however be treading on inane premises, as Apple is more or less a technological dynamo to reckon with among computers.

So far, Apple's lowest cost desktop computer is the Mac mini. It measures 6.5 inches square and 2 inches small. The unit allows control from a distance through its included Apple Remote.

Another long-standing product in the apple pantheon is the iMac, a consumer desktop computer first introduced by Apple in 1998. Its emergence redeemed the company from bankruptcy. Currently in its third design iteration, the iMac’s concept is nothing new from the original Macintosh in that the monitor and computer are housed in a single unit. Unlike the previous iMac whose speed it has doubled, the latest incarnation sees the unit incorporated with Intel Core Duo, iLife ’06, built-in iSight and Front Row media experience. This iMac is also turbocharged.

Introduced in 1994, the Power Mac G5 is Apple's desktop computer for the professional and creative market.

It is hailed as Apple's cheaper alternative to the iMac for the education market. The Power Mac G5 Dual and Power Mac G5 Quad are engineered with dual-core PowerPC processors, a modern PCI Express architecture, and attractive workstation graphics.

The iBook G4 prides itself with a fast PowerPC G4 processor running at up to 1.42GHz, built-in wireless capability, an available DVD-burning SuperDrive and up to 1.5GB of memory. The unit even comes complete with the entire suite of Apple’s iLife ’05 applications.

The MacBook Pro runs four times the speed of the PowerBook G4 and eight times the graphics bandwidth. The model is powered by a dual-core Intel engine.

Line of servers available in the Apple pantheon includes the Xserve, a single-processor, dual-processor, and cluster-node server range, and the Xserve RAID for server storage options.

The company also sells a variety of computer accessories for Macintosh computers, such as the iSight video conferencing camera. They also include the AirPort wireless networking products, Apple Cinema HD Display and Apple Displays computer displays, Mighty Mouse and Apple Wireless Mouse computer mice, Apple Wireless Keyboard computer keyboard and the Apple USB Modem.
